•        Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship

Six of the presidents of the United States in the past century have been left-handed.  If you have similar interests to major in political science, history, government, or economics, the Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship can provide $ 5,000.  Each year, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) selects two juniors and seniors with U.S. citizenship with financial need and academic merit to attend any accredited four-year university nationwide.  Also consider the Lucinda Beneventi Findley History Scholarship.

•        Frank J.  Richter Scholarship

The American Association of Railroad Observers (AARS) offers some unique scholarships, including the Frank J. Richter Scholarship Award of $ 1,000.  Interested left-handers must be full-time enrolled in an accredited college in the US or Canada, have at least a 2nd place finish, achieve a minimum 2.75 GPA, make two recommendations, and write a narrative statement.  Preference is given to students enrolled in majors related to the transportation field.

One of the few scholarships for left-handed people is the Frederick and Mary F.Beckley Scholarship, which was established in 1979 at Juniata College in Pennsylvania.  This scholarship is valued from $ 1,000 to $ 1,500 annually and is intended for Lefts who have completed at least their first year at Juniata with the highest academic achievement above 3.3 GPA and campus leadership.  Applications must include two personal references, proof of financial need, and a degree certificate.

•        Heineken USA Performing Arts Scholarship

Administered by the Black Caucus Foundation for Congress, the Heineken USA Performing Arts Scholarship can provide $ 3,000 to creative left-handed people pursuing a bachelor’s degree in drama, music, opera, theater, and other performing arts.  Eligibility criteria require that applicants be African American citizens or legal residents, attend an accredited full-time college, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate leadership ability, and submit a two-minute visual enrollment sample.

In partnership with Evangel University, James River Church (JRC) awards a Left Handed Scholarship for $ 500 annually to southpaws who pursue an associate’s degree in leadership from the JRC leadership campus.  Eligible applicants must demonstrate their artistic ability by writing a 500-word essay about being left-handed or submitting a range of drawing, drawing, photography or graphic design creations.  Scholarship funding is distributed evenly across the four semesters of the program.

Perhaps the most distinguished scholarships for left-handed people are awarded by the American Association of Candy Technologists (AACT), including the John Kate Memorial Scholarship.  For $ 5,000, eligible candidates must be at least second-year students studying at a four-year US university majoring in food science, chemistry, biology, nutrition, culinary arts, or related fields.  Left-handers interested in serving should show a true commitment to working in the confectionery industry.

Left-handed use has been linked to an increased risk of developing ADHD.  If you are diagnosed with this neurodevelopmental disability, the Michael Yasick ADHD Scholarship can provide $ 2,000 to university and prepaid training services from the Edge Foundation.  To apply, candidates must be legal residents of the United States, be admitted to a two- or four-year post-secondary program at an accredited college, and provide medical documentation from a licensed healthcare provider.

Another scholarship for left-handed people is awarded by the Midwestern Contractors Association (MRCA) each year for $ 500 to $ 3000.  Eligible Southpaws must major in trade-related disciplines, such as architecture, engineering, industrial design, materials science, construction, or metallurgy.  Recipients must be citizens of the United States, maintain full-time studies, attend an accredited American college or technical school, hold a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have work experience in construction.
